"Status of the Deshi cow and its progeny in the country is not in proper order. We need to reintroduce the care and management system on scientific lines to make the farmers prosperous. Due to serious deterioration of soil, health of Farm animals and plants both are affected in terms of quality and safety. As a result the income of the farmer is also much reduced. Government of India has established Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog (RKA) for Conservation, Protection and Development of Indigenous breeds of Cows and its progenies. By increasing usage of Cows and Cow based products all above mentioned issues related to Soil and Health will also get resolved resulting in increase in income of the farmers. Rural migration from village to town will get prevented by it and employment opportunities for rural youth and women will also get generated", said Dr Vallabhbhai Kathiria, Chairman, RKA. .
Dr. Kathiria was speaking in a Press Conference organized in the Circuit House of the Rajkot, emphasized that there is great scope for improvement of cow based rural economy by conservation, Preservation and protection of the desi breeds of the cows and its progeny which are most fitted in Indian condition, for sustainable farming system . It has solution to global climate change menace and improving the quality farm products. He said that the RKA is now dedicated to add many ventures and dimensions to utilize the cow Panchgavya and byproducts for the production of panchagavya medicines and other products . .
Chairman of the RKA has traveled throughout country and found out the cow product based business has great importance and potential to generate funds at farmers door. It has abundant opportunity of the employment generation. This Rishi Krishi Sanskruti must be rejuvenated to make the country most prosperous as "Viswa Guru” and to achieve the goal of India becoming 5 trillion dollar economy by 2025. The Aayog is also planning to make a network for the production and sale of the Panchgavya products by entrepreneurs to make it widely used in advanced and competitive Global market. The human resource development and entrepreneurship plan has been prepared for successful implementation. .
Asking on the latest plan and strategy, he said that awareness, education, training , research and development are the major focus of the Aayog by incorporation of the facilities for the doctoral studies. Currently, Institutions in the Haryana and Gujarat state and EDII (Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India) agreed to start the important courses based upon Entrepreneurship and Job oriented Course related to Goshala Development and management utilizing its Financial benefits by entrepreneurs. Once the usefulness of Desi Cows will be established scientifically and farmers will start getting benefitted economically by those Cows which do not give milk, then Desi cow breed will be preserved and conserved. He has requested the farmers to start keeping desi cow and utilize crop residues feed and fodder without burning in the field because, the country is facing serious scarcity of the dry roughages. .
He also discussed ways to participate in making people aware about the Health, Spiritual and Economic benefits that mankind can get from Indian breeds of cows as well as the holistic ways for Environmental, Ecological, Agricultural, Land Fertility and Energy benefits that could be obtained through Cow and Cow products based Industries.
